The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department needs your help to identify the suspect responsible for a fatal hit and run collision.
At approximately 1:00 a.m. on Thursday February 2nd, 2017, a passerby found a critically injured man lying in the street in the 10500 block of Park Ave. in Parkland. The victim was identified as 45 year old Earl Switzer Jr.; he was suffering from a serious head wound and later died from his injuries on March 18th, 2017.
Deputies were able to determine that just prior to being found, Switzer had been at the Hard Luck Bar & Grill, which is located less than two blocks from the crime scene. Investigators believe Switzer walked away from the bar after trying to cause a disturbance with other patrons, then was struck by an unidentified vehicle that fled the scene.
Investigators found a black metal passenger side mirror on the shoulder of the road near where the victim was found; it is believed to be from an older model truck.
