Pierce County Sheriff’s detectives need your help to identify the two suspects responsible for the robbery and murder of 79-year-old Soon Ja Nam.
At 5:08 p.m. on Saturday April 27, 2019, victim Soon Ja Nam was shot and killed by an unidentified suspect during a robbery at the Handy Corner Store located in the 8000 block of 112th St. E. in the Puyallup area.
Witnesses reported that two unidentified suspects entered the store, displayed handguns and demanded cash from the store owner Soon Ja Nam. After Nam gave the suspects cash from the register, one of the suspects followed her toward the store office and shot her in the back. The suspects fled the store heading westbound on 112th St. E. in a gray 1990’s 4-door Nissan Sentra.
The two suspects are described as dark complected black males in their 20’s, approximately 6’ tall and 200 lbs., wearing beanie caps and white hospital-style surgical masks. The shooter was seen wearing a gray hoodie, black sweatpants, and gray tennis shoes. The driver had a scruffy beard and was seen wearing a blue hoodie, gray sweatpants, and white shoes.
