K9 Support Fund
Pierce County Metro Canine Unit
A K9 Support Fund is being established for the Pierce County Metro K9 Unit in memory of fallen Tacoma Police K9 Ronja.
This is the official fund and is created in partnership with the Tacoma Police Department, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, and Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers. 100% of all funds donated will go directly toward providing kevlar vests, training, equipment, and medical care for the patrol K9s who bravely serve throughout Pierce County.
The fund is being created in honor of K9 Ronja of the Tacoma Police Department, who was tragically killed in the early morning hours of August 13, 2020, during the track and capture of an armed suspect in a homicide that occurred a few hours earlier. When the tracking team was fired upon by the suspect, K9 Ronja sacrificed herself to save the life of her handler and her fellow officers.
Donations can be made to the Pierce County Metro K9 Unit Support Fund via PayPal or credit card by clicking on the orange "DONATE" button at the top of this page. You will receive an email confirmation that your donation for the K9 fund has been received by Crime Stoppers.
Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is a 501(c) 3 non-profit all-volunteer organization that has held a trusted relationship with law enforcement agencies throughout Pierce County since 1984.
