Tacoma Mall Purse Snatching

Tacoma Police detectives need your help to identify the suspect responsible for seriously injuring an elderly woman during an attempted purse snatching.

At 2:05 p.m. on Monday May 28th, 2012, the 75-year-old victim was in the west parking lot of the Tacoma Mall outside of the Nordstrom department store.  An unidentified suspect ran up to the victim, grabbed the victim’s purse and knocked the victim to the ground.  The suspect left the purse and ran away heading northbound.  The victim suffered significant head injuries as a result of the assault and attempted robbery.

The suspect is described as a black female with a dark complexion, approximately 18 to 25 years old, 5’9”, slender build, with her hair worn in a ponytail.  She was seen wearing a dark jacket, jeans, and glasses (prescription eyeglasses or sunglasses).


Receive up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and charges filed for the person responsible in this case.
