Pierce County Sheriff's Deputy Cooper Dyson
A legacy fund is being established for fallen Pierce County Sheriff's Deputy Cooper Dyson.
This is the official legacy fund and is created in partnership with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department and Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers. 100% of all funds donated in memory of Deputy Dyson will go directly to his wife and very young children.
Deputy Cooper Dyson was killed in the line of duty on Saturday December 21, 2019, when he was involved in a collision while responding priority backup to help his fellow deputies who were being assaulted by a domestic violence suspect who was trying to access a firearm.
Deputy Dyson was a patrol deputy with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department for 1 year. He served in the United States Coast Guard as a hazardous boat crew member and a rated fireman, and his father is a Lieutenant with East Pierce Fire.
He is survived by his wife and their 3 year old son, and they are expecting a baby girl in early 2020.
